PBS and Funky Kingston present a very special evening of foundation Jamaican sounds delivered by one of the originators direct from Kingston, Jamaica: Stranger Cole. Get down to Shotkickers in Thornbury Saturday November 26, but make sure you grab a pre-sale, available now from trybooking.com.

Wilburn Theodore 'Stranger' Cole cut his first record in 1961 at just 16 years old and continues to celebrate the sounds and grooves of young Jamaica to this day. His career has spanned ska, rocksteady and reggae, not only as a singer but also as a producer.

More recently, Stranger has been honoured by the Jamaican government for his contribution to culture, and he was the voice and face of celebrated documentary Rocksteady: the Roots of Reggae.

Stranger is still in high demand around the world having already toured Mexico, Spain, Europe and the UK in 2022. To spend an evening with Mr Cole is an experience you'll never forget. His zest for life and the songs he sings are uplifting and infectious - it is no exaggeration to say that he is a living legend.

Backing Stranger for this very special evening will be Melbourne’s own off-beat legends, The Ska Vendors, with an opening set from Benny and The Flybyniters. Selectors for the night - Mohair Slim, Stick Mareebo and Fabulous Fez - will keep the dancefloor going before and after the bands.

Shotkickers 744 High St, Thornbury Saturday November 26 from 8pm.
Tickets are $55+BF & available now from trybooking.com.
