Opening Theme: Eilen Jewell | Radio City | Queen Of The Minor Key

1. Edwin Hawkins Singers | Oh Happy Day | Let Us Go Into The House Of The Lord
- Edwin Hawkins, who was the leader and arranger of this song and group, passed away on Jan 15th, aged 74. This was released as a single in 1968 and was a rare crossover hit in the Gospel genre. This arrangement was extremely influential and features the extraordinary vocals of Dorothy Combs Morrison.
2. Pastor T.L. Barrett & The Youth For Christ Choir | Like A Ship... (Without A Sail) | Like A Ship... (Without A Sail)
- Continuing the gospel with a funky groove, this is taken from a one-off gospel album released in 1971 and later reissued by Light In The Attic records in 2010.
3. Khruangbin | Two Fish And An Elephant | The Universe Smiles Upon You
- I just got introduced to this Houston band this week and they're fantastic. This is from their 2015 debut album but their 2nd album comes out next week.
4. Lee Fields & The Expressions | Make The World | Special Night
- They are playing at the Corner Hotel on March 6th and Golden Plains on March 11th. This is taken from their most recent album, released in 2016

6. Tinariwen | Sastanàqqàm | Elwan
- This is from their 7th album which was released last year.
7. Xylouris White | Motorcycle Kondilies | Mother
- Jim White mentioned this piece last week but we didn't get to play it. It's arguably my highlight of the album. Mother is released tomorrow.

8. Goat | It's Not Me | Requiem
- Taken from their 2016 album.
9. Sand Pebbles | Dream Chant | Morning Of The Earth Reimagined
- I thought I'd explore something a little earlier than their excellent Pleasure Maps album from last year. This is taken from the 2014 compilation of different artists covering songs from the Morning Of The Earth soundtrack.
10. Mt. Mountain | Cathedral | Single
- This single was released last week but is not from their 2017 album Dust. They will be launching it at The Curtin Hotel on Jan 27th with Luna Ghost and more.
11. Dark Temple | Hell's Closing In | Dark Temple
- This is an excellent debut album from local stoner rock band.

12. The Posies | Solar Sister | Frosting On The Beater
- This is a classic by one of my all-time favourite bands. They have just released a Pledge Music campaign in order to release 3 of their classic 90s albums in deluxe packages. This will be the first time this album will be released on vinyl since it was released in 1993!
13. Gaz Coombes | Deep Pockets | World's Strongest Man
- This is the first single from the former Supergrass singer/guitarist's 3rd solo album, to be released on May 4th.
14. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever | Julie's Place | The French Press
- This band is one of many who have just been announce to play at this year's PBS Drive Live, happening every afternoon at PBS from Feb 5th-9th. They will be on The Afterglow. Take a look here for more info - http://pbsfm.org.au/node/72577

- This is Xani's 2nd EP, to be released on Jan 29th and launched at The Post Office Hotel on Feb 4th.
16. Talking Heads | This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) | Speaking In Tongues
- A 35th anniversary celebration to celebrate the release of Speaking In Tongues is happening at The Corner on Jan 26th w/Skyskraper Stan, Jarrow, Ali E and heaps more. On the same night, the Astor will be showing the classic Talking Heads concert film, Stop Making Sense which also features this tune.

17. Joe Henry | Sparrow | Invisible Hour
- Joe has released a solo album since this one but this track from his 2014 album came back on my radar recently and it is simply stunning.
18. Shelley Short | Book Under A Tree | Pacific City
- This is from Shelley's most recent album, released last year. She will be playing at the Northcote Uniting Church Hall on Jan 22nd with Anthonie Tonnon.
