1. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings | Matter Of Time | Soul Of A Woman
- This is from the posthumous album, released in November, a year after Sharon's passing.
2. Geraldo Pino & The Heartbeats | Heavy Heavy Heavy | Let's Have A Party
- Some early 70s funk out of Nigeria.
3. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble | Gibbous | Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
- This group consisting of 8 brothers are coming to Melbourne again. This time for the Brunswick Music Festival. They are playing at Howler on March 16th. This track is from their debut album, released in 2009.
4. The Seven Ups | Stampede | Commandments
- This is the latest single from this excellent local group, taken from their forthcoming 3rd album, due out on April 20th. This is quite a different sound but extremely rockin!

5. The Fall | Rebellious Jukebox | Live At The Witch Trials
- The Fall leader, Mark E. Smith, passed away on Jan 24th, aged 60. This is taken from their debut album, released in 1979. This song was also the theme to the PBS show of the same name, presented by Jacob Marshall between 2009-2011.
6. The Other Half | Mr. Pharmacist | Single
- This song was frequently covered by The Fall and released on their 1986 album, Bend Sinister. This version can be found on the excellent compilation, Before The Fall which contains the original versions of several songs that The Fall collected over the years.
7. The Living Eyes | Square One | Modern Living
- This is from their 3rd album which was released last year. They will be performing a PBS Studio 5 Live session on Sunglasses After Dark tonight from 8pm. They will be launching the album on Saturday Night at The Tote with support from Gonzo, Parsnip, Stroppies + more!
8. Amyl And The Sniffers | Balaclava Lover Boogie | Big Attraction & Giddy Up
- The band have just released their first 2 EP's as one collection on vinyl and CD.
9. Cable Ties | Same For Me | Cable Ties
- Cable Ties are one of many bands performing at PBS Drive Live next week. They will be on Mixing Up The Medicine on Tuesday although that day (along with Wednesday and Thursday) are booked up. However, there are still spots available on Monday and Friday and of course, you can listen to all five days on PBS FM! Cable Ties are also putting on the first Cable Ties Ball on Feb 24th at the Corner Hotel. Other bands include Habits, The Dacios and Miss Destiny.

10. Jackie Got Lemons | Almost Dating | None Of Your Business
- JGL are playing at Bar Open on Sunday night with The Vacant Smiles and Inklines.
11. Sugar Fed Leopards | Comeback River | Take You Out Tonight
- This is from their 2nd album, released last year but they are just about to release a new song, Roses which they will be launching at The Corner on Feb 16th. This will be their first and last gig for the year!
12. Spoonful | Dialed To The Nine's | Indian Tiger Waterfall
- Spoonful are playing their first gig in a while at the Gasometer on Saturday night.
13. The Saints | Every Day's A Holiday, Every Night's A Party | Prehistoric Sounds
- This is a great off the band's often underlooked 3rd album, released in 1978.
14. Heartbrokers | Love Your Enemy | Vol. 10
- This fantastic local supergroup, consisting of Van & Cal Walker, Jeff Lang, Ezra Lee & Ashley Davies have just released their debut album which they will be launching on March 30th at The Gasometer Hotel with support from the Ezra Lee Trio.

15. Heartbrokers | Rank Outsider | Vol. 10
- A bit of a contrast from the other tunes on the album but is one of my faves!

16. Ups And Downs | Fires Amongst Us | The Sky's In Love With You
- This is taken from the band's first album in almost 30 years which they will be launching at the Northcote Social Club tomorrow night with support from The Killjoys + Shiva and The Hazards.
17. Jess Ribeiro | Slip The Leash | Kill It Yourself
- Jess will be playing preview shows for her new album at the Tote on Feb 28th, the Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine on March 1st and the Grace Darling on March 2nd. These will also be fundraisers to help the band get to America to perform at South By Southwest.
18. Shayne P. Carter | I Know Not Where I Stand | Offsider
- Shayne (from NZ bands such as Straitjacket Fits and Dimmer) will be playing at the Yarra Hotel tomorrow night with support from Penny Ikinger.
19. Marlon Williams | What's Chasing You | Make Way For Love
- Marlon's 2nd album is released on Feb 16th. He will be playing at the Forum on May 12th with support from The Weather Station.

20. Marlon Williams | Nobody Gets What They Want Anymore | Live In Studio

21. Cat Canteri | Fitzroy Bowl | Single
- This single will be launched as a double single launch with Ben Matstwyk at the Spotted Mallard on Feb 15th.
22. The Drunken Poachers | Compliments | To Poach Or Not To Poach
- They will be performing a matinee rendition of their debut album at The Gasometer on Saturday afternoon with support from Quarry Mountain Dead Rats and Jim Lawrie.
