Tex Perkins and The Tennessee Four with Rachael Tidd are doing a special Johnny Cash show on Friday August 19th at The Athenaeum, Melbourne as part of a fundraiser for 4-year-old Frank Folley who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. Frank is the son of Dave Folley and Rachael Tidd (both previously of The Man in Black, now Far From Folsom).

Also performing on the night will be Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk (Featuring Dave Folley on drums) and Lost Ragas (Featuring Matt Walker and Shane Reilly - both previously of The Man in Black, now Far From Folsom), the night will be hosted by Brian Nankervis.

Frankie (Lanky Frankie or Frank the Tank) is a big, bold kid who has just turned four. He loves his food, his music and his big brothers. Earlier this year, Dave, Rachael and their close-knit circle were devastated when Frankie was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma, a rare, aggressive tumour-based children's cancer with no known cause. Tex and the band have known Frankie his whole life, travelling around the country with him onboard from soon after he was born. He's part of the team!

So far Frankie has had six rounds of heavy chemotherapy, endless grueling testing and surgery. Despite the constant cycle of punishment, he keeps bouncing back and Frankie's doctors are thrilled with how he is tolerating it. He has already missed out on his first year of kinder, but Frankie's not even halfway through treatment yet...

Frankie has further long stints at Royal Children's Hospital, Peter Mac and Monash in Melbourne, and years of monitoring after that. His parents have re-arranged their lives and their schedule around Frankie's many appointments and requirements, and they need our help. With so much time spent away from home and so little chance to work and play, the costs around treatment over time add up. Frankie's family, friends and the music and arts community have already rallied to support them, and now you can too.
