Join us for our monthly ska, rocksteady and early reggae party at the Gasometer Hotel feat. The Ska Vendors, PBS DJs and guest selectors!

After a MASSIVE party celebrating our 1st birthday – which had the dancefloor pumping at capacity until the early hours of the morning – we are very proud to announce that Jamaica Jump-Up will be heading into our second year of monthly shakedowns at The Gasometer Hotel on Saturday, May 21.

This month we’ll be taking the train to Skaville with a live set from the mighty masters of Jamaican groove, The Ska Vendors – a nine-member strong supergroup fronted by Scottish-born legend Steve Montgomery (who Jamaica Jump-Up enthusiasts will know well as our resident MC Kilmarnock Steve).

To keep us in the rhythm, resident DJs Mohair Slim (Blue Juice), Jesse I (Babylon Burning) and Stryka D (formerly Break the Chain) will be selecting the very best in rocksteady, early reggae and ska throughout the night. Plus, Melbourne’s first lady of reggae Systa BB (The Good, The Dub & The Global – 3RRR) and the tremendous Buddy Love will also be hitting the decks with 100% vinyl selections to keep people skankin’ all night long.

As a special treat this month, we’ll welcome guest MC Gentleman Conor ‘Pearl’ Healy to take good care of formalities for the rocksteady massive on the night. Get on down to the Gaso nice and early to beat the queue and indulge in some good pub grub before the party begins.
