Fri 18 Feb 2011 to Sun 20 Feb 2011

Are looking for a weekend away for the whole family at a laid back country town festival? Do you have a love of blues music? Are you hanging out for a good jam session? Or maybe a great market is more your style! Then Bruthen is the place to be on the 18th, 19th & 20th February 2011.

The organising committee for the Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival is pleased to announce that the 16th annual festival on the third weekend in February 2011 is well on the way to being as great as ever. With a great line-up of Blues musicians and a family-friendly atmosphere, Bruthen will come alive with music and activities to suit every everyone. Entry to many of the events is free, and tickets to the other events can be purchased on the weekend.

As usual, the Festival kicks off with the Friday night Jam Competition, which was so popular last year that the number of entries this year will be limited, check out the website for details on how to enter. Daytime entertainment over the weekend will be situated in the shady Main Street Gardens, with the free street stage, colourful market stalls, workshops to hone your musical skills, street performers and kids activities. There are two venues to choose from on the Saturday night, the laid back and family friendly Blues Cafe at the Hall, and the Big Blues Bash party at the Bruthen Inn Hotel, where serious blues fans can wet their appetite. The free music and market continues on Sunday in the street, along with the ever popular duck race on the Tambo River, a great place to cool your feet on a warm day. The Festival winds up on Sunday afternoon with the Blues Recovery.

All of the artists have been locked in for the festival. We are particularly excited to announce that the Ray Beadle Band from Sydney will be performing at various venues across the weekend. Some of the other artists we have lined up are Barrel House, Andrea Marr and the Owen Campbell Band.

The Bruthen Blues and Arts Festival is produced by the Bruthen Arts and Events Council Inc. and is proudly supported by the East Gippsland Shire and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal for grant funding.
