The program guide describes Makeshift Swahili as 'noisy underground rock', which is fair description of what you hear, to some extent. ‘Adventurous rock’ would be another good one.
I tend to play lesser-known, noisy, inventive, unconventional, experimental and eccentric sounds. Avant rock, no-wave, improvisation, free-folk, noise-rock, post-punk, psych-rock, space rock, spazz-rock, math-rock, drone-rock... and sometimes stuff that's not rock at all.
Local music is a big part of the show - I like to keep up with new bands and regularly play demos, self-released or unreleased recordings and small label releases. From time to time you'll also hear interviews, live-to-air performances, and band or label specials as well.
